b"Dear Readers, In the summer of 2001, I was a contestant on a game show called VH1s Name That Video. I advanced to the final round, where the big challenge was to watch music videos and identify each video by artist and song as they flashed upon the screen. Naming ten videos in sixty seconds meant Id win a Toyota 4x4 with a Pioneer stereo and Rolling Stone Magazines 100 greatest albums of all time on CD. I won, with nine seconds to spare. Its just one of the moments in my long standing relationship with the music video genre if relationship is a euphemism for hoarding music, movie and television memorabilia to the extent that I own more Beta tapes than a non-Betamax owner should. My younger brother and I were teenagers in the 1980s, which is to say, we grew up on MTV (with credit also going to USA Night Flight, WTBSs Night Tracks, HBOs Video Jukebox, and NBCs Friday Night Videos). I sat glued to my seat like the rest ofMUSIC VIDEO TIME MACHINE America when The Making of Michael Jacksons ThrillerA magazine for people who like this stuffaired, and I became intrigued with the stories behind the camera. Over the years, Ive been lucky enough to producePublisher/Managing Editor: Stephen W. Pitalo and direct some music videos, see the greatest artists ofGraphic design work by Jayden Designspop and rock showmanship in concert, talk with bands and directors about their experiences creating music videos, and create content that pays tribute to this special moment in both music and film making: The Golden Age of Music Video (1976-1994, give or take a year). After years of research & interviews, I decided to publish MUSIC VIDEOHONOR ROLL HALL OF FAMETIME MACHINE, a magazine that delivers what no otherYvonne KeiferDr. Hunter S.
