MTV Continues To Take a Steaming Crap All Over Its Legacy With “Remote Control” Blog That Isn’t About MTV’s Beloved Game Show
First the MTV logo, now “Remote Control”? What the hell is MTV’s problem with reverence for its past — you know, the years when it wasn’t an embarrassment?
Currently, if you search for “MTV Remote Control” online in search of the namesake game show that ran on MTV from 1987 to 1990, you’ll most likely find a horrible blog about the current television programs on MTV.
Yes, that’s right, the still-clueless management at the MTV programming center have decided that they couldn’t find a better name for a crappy blog than the name of their most-beloved game show, the same one that launched the careers of Ken Ober, Colin Quinn, Kari Wuhrer and a pre-SNL Adam Sandler.
Billed as “Insider Access To Your Favorite MTV Shows” (which could be translated to “Keeping Up With All The Non-Music Garbage That Ruined Our Network”), the blog is located at http://remotecontrol.mtv.com/ and, with any luck, will crash the servers at MTV Networks and implode the network like the finale of Fight Club.
If you want to voice your protest to this total dick move, I suggest you email Mariana Agathoklis, MTV Senior Director of Communications, at [email protected] to voice your displeasure.
