With a resume that ranged from thriller to action to drama, Jonathan Kaplan made some of the most indelible impressions on filmgoers psyches. And even though his films brought him acclaim — from Truck Turner to The Accused to Unlawful Entry to Love Field — he also helmed some big music videos during the Golden Age of Music Video (1976-1994), He incorporated black and white often, and his run of hit videos for John Mellencamp included “Rain on the Scarecrow,” “Lonely Ol’ Night,” “Small Town” and “Get a Leg Up.” He also gave Rod Stewart’s longstanding relationship with music video some new life when he directed videos for his big hit “Infatuation,” and later, “Lost in You.” Take a look here at some of his best.
