Did Miley Cyrus Rip Off Accept’s “Balls To the Wall” Video?

Miley
So it seems the everyone’s favorite twerker Miley Cyrus just set a new record for web hits with her new music video “Wrecking Ball”, garnering over 12 million views in just 24 hours. The video, directed by Terry Richardson, shows Miss Tongue in all her glory riding a wrecking ball and licking a sledgehammer. We can’t help but notice that the wrecking ball thing was done nearly thirty years ago with acclaimed metal band Accept and their 1984 video for the single “Balls to the Wall”. Directed by the amazing Julien Temple, the clip shows lead singer Udo Dirkschneider similarly riding a wrecking ball through walls. Temple told us in a phone interview, “I loved the idea of this heavy metal dwarf riding a demolition ball. We were laughing every time they swung the ball.”

So what’s up, Miley? It seems that everything old is new again — AGAIN. Or is it much Udo about nothing? (Sorry, we had to.) Judge for yourself.
